Early-Stage Investment
Ecosystem Ventures LLC., is a Silicon Valley-based venture capital investment and strategic consulting firm that is dedicated to building sustainable companies around significant technologies and innovative business ideas. We focus primarily, but not exclusively, on companies that are based in Europe or have strong European ties. We invest in companies during the seed round and work with entrepreneurs to grow their businesses until the first large institutional investment (Series A).

European universities are among the world’s foremost in engineering innovation, but proportionately spawn the world’s fewest successful spin-offs. This is due to a lack of early-stage venture capital from without and a dearth of entrepreneurial direction from within. FOR INVESTORS AND LIMITED PARTNERS
Ecosystem Ventures provides the opportunity for Investment Firms, Limited Partners and Accredited Individual Investors to contribute their capital and experience to any of our current or future ventures. We are seeking co-investors who believe in our philosophy and model for commercializing very early stage ideas and companies with European ties and the willingness to decrease involvement after the completion of a Series A round of investment. In particular, we encourage accredited individual investors who are interested in investing small amounts of capital into progressive transatlantic ventures to contact us. Ecosystem Ventures also provides investment opportunities and consulting services to investors interested in capitalizing on the growth of the Indian market. ADVISORS
Moritz Baggenstoss
Moritz is responsible for the portfolio management. Moritz's technical background in combination with his business degree makes him a very valuable team member. Moritz has a degree from the University of Zurich.
Cyril Vančura
Cyril Vančura has a huge experience in Venture Capital investing and in all stages of the Ventures Capital cycle. Other experience include MEMS, sensors, autonomous systems, Internet of Things, and Human-Machine Interaction technologies.
Nik Ajagu
Mr. Ajagu is currently Head of Advertising Operations at Facebook Inc. During his time at Ecosystem Ventures, Mr. Ajagu sourced and evaluated potential investments and supported Ecosystem Ventures’ portfolio companies post-investment.
Stefan Rust
Mr. Rust is founder and CEO of Exicon Global. He is well regarded in the worldwide wireless and media content industries, where he interacts with the investment, technology, entertainment and telecommunication communities.
Veronica Besmer
Veronica Besmer advises clients on Internet law, privacy, intellectual property and general business matters.
Dirk Michels
Dirk Michels is a partner with the international law firm Ballard Spahr LLP. Formerly he was a Partner at K&L Gates and was the co-founder of K&LNG’s KL TEC practice group, and co-chair of the firm’s Life Science Group.
Karl Mehta
Karl Mehta brings over 16 years of experience to PlaySpan in founding and building high-tech businesses in the US and international markets. Prior to co-founding PlaySpan Inc., Karl was part of the founding team at MobileAria Inc.
Fabio Rupp
Dr. Rupp was formerly Director of North America for Prionics, AG, a diagnostic company that went from start-up to the 2nd largest animal diagnostic company in the world in 10 years. Has extensive experience in functional genomics.
David Hug
David Hug is currently an Investment Partner at the Zurcher Kantonalbank venture group. David worked for Ecosystem Ventures. He holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration Management from the University of Chur.
Ivo Ronner
Prior to Ecosystem Ventures, Mr. Ronner worked as a data scientist for Netbreeze, a social media big data start up acquired by Microsoft in 2013. Mr. Ronner has a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Applied Sciences Chur.
